Why we built Ligature
You had a brilliant conversation with AI last week. You made a decision, explored an idea, changed your mind about something important. You remember the feeling of clarity.
But you don't remember which platform it was on. Or what day. Or what exact words led to that breakthrough.
This is the problem we kept running into ourselves. We use Claude for deep strategic thinking. ChatGPT for fast iteration. Gemini for research. Three platforms, dozens of conversations per week, hundreds per month. And the most valuable output of all that thinking? Lost in infinite scroll.
The problem isn't the conversations. It's what happens after.
AI conversations are different from every other kind of document. They're not files you save. They're not notes you write. They're live thinking sessions where you explore, decide, pivot, and discover. The structure of that thinking matters as much as the content.
But no tool treats them that way. Your AI platforms store conversations as flat lists. No connections between them. No way to find the decision you made three weeks ago. No way to see how your thinking evolved across platforms.
What Ligature does differently
Ligature watches your AI conversations across Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. In the background, a local AI on your machine reads every conversation and extracts the moments that matter: decisions, insights, open questions, pivots, ideas. 87 messages become 12 key moments you can read in 30 seconds.
Then it goes further. It finds connections between conversations across platforms. The pricing discussion you had on Claude? It's connected to the market research you did on Gemini. The architecture decision on ChatGPT? It links to the hiring conversation on Claude. Over time, a Graph of Thought emerges that shows how you actually think.
Local-first by design
We made a deliberate choice: your conversations stay on your device. Ligature processes everything locally. There's no cloud. No account required. No one reads your conversations but you.
This isn't a limitation. It's a feature. Your AI conversations contain your most unfiltered thinking. The ideas you're not sure about yet. The decisions you're still weighing. That kind of thinking deserves privacy by default.
What's next
This is just the beginning. We're building the connector marketplace for more platforms. We're adding smart export to tools like Obsidian and Linear. And we're exploring how the Graph of Thought can surface patterns in your thinking that you can't see yourself.
If you use AI to think, Ligature remembers what you thought.
